CASA's Newsletter Summer 2024

Get Organized.

Take action.

Brothers & Sisters,

We ended the year effortlessly and if we did not know our internal mistakes, trust me, no one would know.  Each principal is to be commended for a job well! All CASA support systems are to be commended as well! The beginning and end of the year are the biggest events in a principal’s life and we handle the struggles so well, and we do it not because we have to but because that is who we are. YOU DID IT!  YOU EMERGED GRACEFULLY AND YOU ARE TO COMMENDED FOR IT!

Not only did we end the year by getting the job done, we ended the year with our Annual End of the Year Cookout, which was not only joined by our family and friends but also with our political friends and for the first time ever, approximately nine-ten Chiefs from Superintendent Dr. Tony Watlington’s Team.  Dr. Watlington kept true to his promise to hear our CASA’s concerns and his appearance and that of his Chiefs, speaks volumes of his commitment to maintaining a positive relationship with CASA!  Do we always see eye to eye?  Absolutely not, but our agendas to care for the leaders of the districts are aligned and I commend Dr. Watlington for taking time out of his busy schedule to show up for one of CASA’s signature events.  He and his team heard and engaged our members in constructive discourse and they relaxed and enjoyed CASA leaders.    I wholeheartedly would like to extend an official thank you to Superintendent Dr. Tony Watlington, Associate Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Jermaine Dawson and the Chiefs for not being afraid to engage with their employees (even when we disagree). This small gesture is slowly changing the
“US VS. THEM” narrative. We were glad to witness the sighting of the newly appointed Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Alphonso Evans and we appreciate his presence on CASA soil.  You can’t lose when you support CASA members! Once again, on behalf of CASA, I thank Superintendent Watlington and his team for making such a strong showing at our signature closing!
